3D2N Stay at Telemong Campsite

We had been having some wet weather recently but decided to go ahead with our trip to the Telemong campsite in Karak. It’s about an hour’s drive from Petaling Jaya to Karak and another 20 minutes to the turn-off from the main road. From there, it’s another 20 minutes to the campsite along a relatively easy trail.

There are two main campsites, one that fits around 20 pax, and another that can take about 10 campers. There are other sites that you can camp at along the river but they are open ground without any trees for shade.

We chose the bigger site across the river to fit our crowd.

This campsite is very clean although you get lots of campers coming here every weekend.

You can get a beautiful view of the waterfalls even from your tents.

The water is shallow but gets deeper the closer you get to the falls. You can get a good massage from the rushing water gushing down the falls.

If you are keen on a short hike, you will find another waterfall further up the trail. A 4-wheel drive vehicle will not help you here as the bridge has collapsed. Although the falls has a higher drop, the pool is small and very shallow.

And as usual, it’s only fun if you have the right place, good food and great company to make your outing memorable. Oh yes, you need to have a proper toilet and changing room for the ladies.
