Bentong/Bukit Tinggi Jungle Streams

Roughly an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, the Bentong and Bukit Tinggi hills hold a few interesting spots that most of us do not get to see. Many of you may probably have visited this region in search of the famous food fare being offered by the many restaurants here. But, there are also a few rivers and waterfalls that you will not see unless you travel in a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

Around the Selesa Hill Homes area, there is a very narrow trail that leads to a very nice stream. There is also a temple hidden away in the hills, very close to the stream. Unfortunately, there is no place for a proper camp site so you will have to make your visit a day trip.

Fortunately, if you come back out to the road and travel a little further using the old road to Bentong, you will find an alternative spot to enjoy camping next to a river. This is one of our favorite spots for camping on weekends.

Reaching the camp site requires travelling on a rough, narrow trail that is filled with holes and deep ruts. If it had rained on that day, the trail can become very slippery. To some of us, that’s where the fun begins. Even on dry days, it’s still difficult but most off-road enthusiasts will not have much problems. Once you reach the campsite, all your efforts are made worthwhile.

When it’s dark, a well lit camp area is important in giving you the security and peace of mind. We even have a portable toilet for those of you who need it.

The smiles on the faces say it all. Another group of happy campers.
